The best lens for portrait photography?

The best lens for portrait photography?

The best lens for portrait photography? As a novice portrait photographer, you may wonder what is the best lens for your images. There is no clear answer to this. Every photographer has his own style and therefore chooses a different lens.

However, you can rely on what is most natural. The human field of view corresponds to a lens of about 50mm. If you choose a lens with this focal length, you will follow in the footsteps of, for example, Henri Cartier-Bresson, who usually used a 50mm. The world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz opts for a 35mm lens because she wants to see more of the environment in her images.

So you don’t have to worry about what others do, but it can be inspiring to know which lens photographers use in certain situations. That’s why we share this video by Manny Ortiz in which he explains what his favorite lenses are and of course why.
